Prepare Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Using the electric mixer on medium speed, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light, fluffy, and pale in color, about 4‑5 minutes.
